Q: How many colors can screen printed labels have?
1 to 6 colors, each color gets its own screen. For a bold 2-color streetwear brand mark, screen print delivers Pantone spot-color accuracy and graphic precision that sublimation can't match for exact spot colors. Beyond 6 colors, sublimation is the better call. Specify your Pantone references and order on the product page.
Q: What's the minimum order for screen printed labels?
5 pieces. Screen setup cost per color is the same regardless of quantity, so unit economics improve sharply with volume, but a small run is no problem if that is all you need. Enter your quantity to see live pricing on the product page.
Q: Do screen printed labels come in dark background colors with light ink?
Yes. We first create woven damask tape in any specified color. We then use a screen print to apply your design to the face of the woven damask fabric in up to 4 spot colors. We can accomodate any combination and the final color scheme is ultimately up to your imagination!

Durable for normal use. Screen-print ink on polyester satin achieves good wash fastness, slightly below sublimation because the ink sits on the surface rather than migrating into the fiber. For performance or high-wash applications, sublimation is the stronger spec. Ask a team member for their recommendation if you are unsure what clothing label type to proceed with.

How Small Can I Print Text?
Screen printed labels are a great choice for designs with small text that may not translate well using thread. While woven labels can only accommodate 5pt fonts, this type of label can display fonts as small as 2.5pt. At the very smallest sizes, we recommend you select a simple sans serif font and avoid script or other fancy font options. If you are unsure if the text in your design will translate clearly, send the design over to our team and we'll point you in the right direction. All orders are reviewed by our team to ensure your artwork will work well at scale before production of your order begins.
Screen Printing Requires Vector Artwork
The screen printing process requires a vectorized version of your artwork. Vector file formats include AI, EPS and SVG. This is because when screen printing, each color is printed individually. Common bitmap files such as JPG or PNG are flat and don't allow us to separate each color. If you need a screen printed label and don't have a vector file, please submit the highest resolution file you have, ideally 300dpi or higher. Our graphic artist will try to convert your bitmap file to vector. If we have any problems we'll let you know before production begins.
