Q: What makes custom woven patches different from embroidered patches?
Woven patches are produced on a fabric loom, the same looms used for our woven labels. This creates a thinner, smoother patch that reproduces extremely fine detail — small text, gradients, and intricate logos come out crisp. Woven patches are flat to the touch and more delicate, ideal for lighter weight garments. Embroidered patches have a raised, textured look that's bolder and professional looking but doesn't accommodate for small details as well.
Q: What is the maximum woven patch size for hats?
For baseball caps the maximum recommended patch size is 4.5" wide and 2.75" tall. Height is the main limiting factor for patches on caps. For most baseball caps, 2.75" height leaves you a small margin off the bill and from the top to give you a professional look. On patches for beanies, you want a patch no larger than 3" wide and 1.25" tall.
Q: Are woven patches durable?

Edge Options
Our woven patches offer two edge options: Merrowed and Laser cut. The standard Mer- rowed edge, created with a specialized machine, features a wrap-around stitch with a width of 1⁄8 inch, ideal for square or circular shapes. For intricate designs or smaller patches, the Laser cut edge is recommended. This state-of-the-art process utilizes cutting-edge laser technology to precisely cut the patch along the custom shape of the design, providing greater flexibility.
Customize with Versions
Customize your woven patch with the ability to add versions. A ‘version’ is a minor modifica- tion or variation in your artwork. Changes in colors fall under the version category as well as small text changes (ie. personalized names). Please note that any significant changes to the artwork or design, such as changing shapes, or size of the patch, do not fall under ‘ver- sions’ and must be processed as separate orders. We charge a flat fee of $25 for each version change.
